Hep B Mortality in HI Data

Donʻt just get mad…get data!

In January 2023, the Hawaiʻi Department of Health released Hawaiʻi Hepatitis B Mortality and Liver Cancer, which showed higher rates of the hepatitis B and liver cancer mortality in Hawaiʻi, compared to the United States. The report also noted higher death rates for both conditions among male and/or Asian and Pacific Islander residents in Hawaiʻi, compared to the rest of the state. Download the infographic.

The Hawaiʻi Journal of Health and Social Welfare also published a peer-reviewed article on hepatitis B mortality in Hawaiʻi, which highlighted findings from the report.
