“Driving Hepatitis B Management: Universal Screening and Vaccination in Primary Care”(medscape.org) - This free, video-based activity is designed to support clinicians who are working to integrate updated CDC guidelines for hepatitis B virus (HBV) screening, testing, and vaccination into daily practice and is valid for credit through 6/12/2024.
New CDC Hepatitis B Screening Recommendations for All Adults - In March 2023, the CDC released new recommendations for a 3-panel hepatitis B screening for all adults, regardless of risk.

Hawaiʻi Best Practice Reminder - Automatic Reflex Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Antibody to RNA Reflex Testing - This handout was developed in 2022 by Hep Free Hawaiʻi and the Hawaiʻi Department of Health (in consultation with local laboratories and the CDC) to promote automatic hep C reflex testing to RNA from antibody. It includes guidance, billing and lab codes, and references.
Mothers and babies can’t wait: A call for action to end mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B - This white paper from the World Hepatitis Alliance outlines the context and human impact of mother-to-child transmission. It makes recommendations, which, when carried out in addition to established guidelines, will ensure that services are equitable, accessible, and available to all who need them.
Provider materials on children, adolescents, young adults and pregnant people living with hepatitis C - In collaboration with specialists in the field of pediatrics, liver disease during pregnancy, harm reduction, and infectious disease, Hepatitis C Mentor and Support Group is offering digital and print materials available for providers free of charge (requires registration).
Treatment in Pregnancy for Hepatitis C (Tip-HepC) Registry - The purpose of this global registry is to record outcomes for pregnant people and their infants exposed to hepatitis C direct-acting antivirals during pregnancy. Findings from the registry will be used to advance HCV treatment decision-making by clinical providers and programs worldwide. There is no date restriction in completing this registry (please note this is NOT a surveillance registry).

Hepatitis C Direct-Acting Antiviral (DAA) Therapy Primary Care Provider Attestation - Form to waive prior authorizations for Hep C medications from Hawaiʻi MedQUEST insurance plans. To qualify, you must attest to taking any HCV education, such as the free CE training module from University of Washington.
MedQUEST Memo - Updating Hepatitis C Treatment Access - In December 2022, the Hawaiʻi State Medicaid program (“MedQUEST”) sent out a memo to its providers and plans, which focuses on alignment with the AASLD/IDSA treatment guidance, specifically stating:
“The goal of this HCV policy is to assure adherence to the best practice guidance, currently outlined by the AASLD-IDSA HCV Guidance. For treatment regimens following the AASLD- IDSA HCV Guidance, there will be no prior authorization” [emphasis added]
