Community Health Centers and Eliminating Hep C in the US @7AM HST

“May is National Hepatitis Month, a time to bring awareness to the hidden epidemic of viral hepatitis, including its risk factors, symptoms, and complications, and to encourage testing. May 19th is Hepatitis Testing Day! To decrease the transmission rate of Hepatitis B (HBV) and Hepatitis C (HCV), early testing and diagnosing is essential. In recognition of Hepatitis Awareness Month, the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) will host a webinar on the role of community health centers in eliminating hepatitis C in the United States. Featured speakers will include Dr. Francis Collins, Dr. Fred Poordad from CommuniCare San Antonio, and Dr. Geogy Thomas from Daysprings Health, FL. This webinar will provide an update on the state of viral hepatitis C in the United States. In addition, participants will identify some of the challenges in the care and treatment of hepatitis C as well as best practices.”
