World Hepatitis Testing Week 2026: Unlocking barriers to testing
“Hepatitis testing continues to be a significant barrier to reaching elimination. Globally, only 27% of people living with hepatitis B and 36% of people living with hepatitis C are diagnosed. Without significant action now, most people living with hepatitis will continue to remain undiagnosed and the World Health Organization’s elimination target of 90% of people diagnosed by 2030 will remain unreachable for most countries. New and different approaches are needed to rapidly improve diagnosis rates. As part of World Hepatitis Testing Week, the World Hepatitis Alliance (WHA) is convening a webinar to explore diverse approaches to hepatitis testing. Speakers will also explore how new testing innovations can help facilitate access and improve diagnosis rates globally.”
