World Hepatitis Testing Week 2026: Accelerating access to hepatitis delta testing
“Most people living with hepatitis delta don’t know they have it, with testing remaining beyond reach. To scale up access to hepatitis delta diagnosis and treatment, barriers to implementation must be addressed. Earlier in the year, two new papers in the Lancet Gastroenterology and Hepatology Review set out who to test for hepatitis Delta and how to test, which alongside the World Hepatitis Alliance (WHA)’s hepatitis delta survey, provide a comprehensive foundation to discuss next steps. These include a focus on integration, testing capacity, care pathways, awareness and equity. As part of World Hepatitis Testing Week, WHA is organising a webinar to bring together different stakeholders to look at how we can take meaningful action to scale up hepatitis delta testing and address these critical next steps. Supported by EIT Pharma, Gilead Sciences, Mirum, and Roche.”
