Since 2021, the Hawaiʻi “HERO” Project (“Health Enhancement to Reduce Opioid-Use-Disorder”) has supported care coordination for hepatitis C and medication for opioid use disorder. HERO sites include a syringe exchange, methadone treatment center, community health center, HIV service organization, and county jail.
