2025 Wayfinder Award to Dr. Christina Wang at Hawaiʻi Liver Summit
In December 2025, we awarded the prestigious Naoky Tsai Wayfinder Award for Outstanding Provider to Dr. Christina Wang, our local champion physician! As stated in the award letter, the reasons for her award is clear:
“Dr. Wang is incredibly humble and rarely talks about her efforts - instead, she makes it about her patients and provides honest, compassionate and quality care to every patient - regardless. She speaks of her patients respectfully, is willing to respectfully call out her colleagues when they speak disrespectfully of patients and is consistently demonstrates that every person has value.”
The award is presented annually to a local hepatitis provider who exemplifies the the following qualities:
promoting collegial learning through networking and education;
humility in engagement with patients, community members, and caregivers;
creating policy changes to increase access to care; and
committing to the spirit of harm reduction in all areas of work.
