Hep B Vaccines for Newcomers @7AM HST

“Hepatitis B disproportionately affects people from certain regions of Africa and Asia, yet many newcomers to the U.S. are unfamiliar with the virus, its risks, or how to access screening, vaccination, and treatment. At the same time, healthcare providers often face real barriers—like limited time, competing priorities, or lack of culturally tailored materials—when trying to address hepatitis B in their practice.

This webinar is designed for providers, community health workers, and organizations working with newcomer populations who want to improve hepatitis B prevention. You’ll learn about practical, culturally responsive tools to help you build trust, engage in meaningful conversations, and support informed decision-making around hepatitis B screening and vaccination.

We’ll introduce MHI’s Protect Your Family, a new campaign developed in collaboration with affected communities. We will also walk through MHI’s Hepatitis B Dialogue Guide, which serves as a flexible toolkit created with longtime partners IDEO.org to help providers bring hepatitis B counseling into routine care in a way that resonates with newcomers.

Whether you’re looking for strategies to integrate hepatitis B education into your workflow or seeking materials that reflect the lived experiences of the communities you serve, this session offers hands-on guidance to meet your goals.”
