Everybody Takes Risks: Practicing Harm Reduction in 2025 (A Conversation)
With recent federal decisions, providers and healthcare systems are under pressure to provide less than optimal care to certain populations, especially persons experiencing houselessness and/or using substances. Harm reduction is grounded in patient-centered care and can provide philosophical underpinning and actionable skills for maintaining quality care for all communities in Hawaiʻi.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Explain the philosophy and practice of harm reduction in clinical and non-clinical settings.
3. Apply harm reduction skills and practice in clinical settings.
3. List local resources for harm reduction services and supplies (eg, syringe exchanges, naloxone vending machines)
