Drug Supply Data and Communication @9AM HST

“Communicating about the unregulated drug supply is challenging. Drug alerts can raise awareness, but they can also fuel misinformation, stigma, and unnecessary alarm without providing information that meaningfully reduces risk. Effective communication starts with a different set of questions: How do we get the right information to the right communities at the right time? Who needs to know what, and what information is actually useful for making decisions and reducing harm? This webinar will explore how to make drug supply communications more targeted, actionable, and responsive to the needs of people most impacted by the unregulated drug supply. We’ll consider whether alerts are helpful, when other approaches may be more effective, and how to share information in ways that inform and support communities rather than sensationalize drugs and their use.”
