Oppose Public Charge Rule

Oppose Public Charge Rule

The proposed "public charge" rule by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) would deny permanent resident status to immigrants who use government services. The new rule would also add age, health, and employability as factors that a DHS official may use to deny green cards on the basis that an immigrant would become a “public charge.” Because of this ruling, many immigrants, including those affected by hepatitis B, would avoid or lose healthcare access
